darktable is an open source photography workflow application and RAW developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.

I don’t really like to install ppa’s to my system. It confuses me by not knowing exactly what my software sources are. So let’s install a kick-ass free software. And opnesource to ^^

1. Add the following lines to the repo list

$ deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/pmjdebruijn/darktable-release/ubuntu precise main

2. Add the repo keys and update them

$ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 40C18E9EC07EE05F && sudo apt-get update

3. And install it!

$ sudo apt-get install darktable -y

4. ‘NJOY OPENSOURCE PHOTO EDITING!

      1. yeah I know. i may need to change the topic. The thing I did was NOT install/add the PPA itself on the typical fashion, but rather adding the PPA as a deb line.
