How to Updgrade Your Fedora Version

I was running Fedora 25. but I started getting that itch when beta version of Fedora is released. So I decided to go on and do some updating.

here’s how I’ve done it

Let’s start by upgrading the system

$ sudo dnf upgrade --refresh

Then I removed some packages (force of habit. You can skip this)

$ sudo dnf clean all

and

$ sudo dnf autoremove

Did a small reboot – again force of habit – and began the ugrade itself

First we install the necessary dnf plugin

$ sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade

Then hit the following command on the terminal, so we can Gandalf TF out of our system xD

$ sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=26

Note: replace 26 for the version number you want. I’ve used the same commands to upgrade from F24 to F25)

After all the mojo and potions are downloaded to our machine,

type the spell

$ sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot

sit back and enjoy the upgrading process
